About Mr. Cook

I am currently in my 16th year of teaching, having started at Antioch two years before Lakes opened. When the opportunity to teach at Lakes opened, I jumped at the chance, and I count myself amoung the few remaining original teachers at Lakes. Over the years I have taught AP Lit, English II Honors, English II, English I, Media Lit, and English IV (in all its various forms). In addition, I have been the advisor of the Lakes yearbook since we opened, and am excited to work on the 14th volumn this year.

I am blessed with a wife and three young children at home, ages 12, 10, and 6. My children demand as much of my time as one would imagine. Fortunatly, my wife understands the demands of teaching and parenting, since she herself is an English teacher at Warren Township High School.

I hold a Bachelors of Arts in English with a Secondary Teaching Endorsment from Bradley University (Peoria, IL) and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University. I also had an opportunity to study at the University of Stirling (Stirling, Scotland).
